3D PRINTING

week five

First I thought about a shape that I can use and I decided to make a triangle.

I made a new sketch in Fusion 360 and made a 2D form of the triangle I wanted to print.

Then I extrudet it 15 mm in height.

I thought about the joints that I wanted to make and decided to have a male and a female joint on every side of the triangle.

I first started with make a construction line on every side to see where the middle is and added another construction line. Then I created the shape of a circle and mirrored it, so I have one circle on each side.

The I extrudet the joints. Important is to think about the tolerance for the inward hinges, so that the outward ones will fit in.. This can be set up in the parameter filed.

Is your 3D design finished, you have to export your module as TLS.

Now you have to open the „Cura“ program to edit the last settings and send your modules to the 3D printer. Do not forget to check, that you have the same edition of Cura as the 3D printer you are working with.

Place your object in the open file and edit it. Change the printing settings, select the right size of the nozzle of your printer, add a brim. If you are done. You can export your file and start printing.

The finished product should look like that (see the last picture).
